Professionally, I started out in the architectural model industry in 1986 and gained much experience in model shops in Vancouver, BC Canada where I served my apprenticeship. For another 13 years I was exposed to several methods and techniques used to build different types of scale models and displays. I was involved in building topographic models, study and massing models used for museum and city planning, prototypes and museum exhibits. "The model arrived in good condition and is beautiful. Peter (collector in Massachusetts) In 1999 I started Brian Klassen Models in Maple Ridge BC (a suburb of Vancouver) where I continued to build architectural models for new clients as well as subcontract for the Vancouver shops. It was then when we started to branch out into marine models. Beginning with local naval architects and yacht builders, we quickly built up a name for ourselves building custom yacht models. As well as building a reputation locally for building quality superyacht models, we then became known in yachtbuilders circles in the US and overseas. With the convenience of sending and receiving information via e-mail and without the need to be too close to Vancouver, we moved to the Sunshine Coast (known to cruisers as the gateway to Desolation Sound and beginning of the Inside Passage). It is here where we have built a shop to continue to build custom scale models of all types yet specializing in megayacht models. "The model finally arrived and I finally saw it!
